LOWA Leandro Pro 2 GTX Mid S3

Designed to deliver comfort and protection in equal measure, the LOWA Leandro Work LX Safety Boot is certified to EN ISO 20345 S3 specifications. This means they can be relied on to protect wearers against penetrative damage, water absorption and both high and low temperatures, but there's more to these mid boots than just that. 

The boot's uppers are made from hydrophobised suede that in addition to being naturally resilient and breathable, also has enhanced resistance against water penetration and absorption. These uppers are complemented by the Gore-Tex Performance Comfort lining, which provides an additional layer of protection against ingress from water and wind. Despite this, Gore-Tex linings still allow feet to breathe so that sweat doesn't accumulate and lead to discomfort. 

Other comfort-enhancing features include a padded upper edge that helps to protect the Achilles Tendon,  a full padded bellows tongue that stops dirt from getting into the boot and prevents pressure marks, and a TPU Overcap that gives the tip of the boot some added support. There is also a full-length inlay sole that absorbs and releases moisture in order to promote a better climate inside the boot. These features all work together to ensure that wearers are comfortable in their boots, which itself is a huge benefit for the wearer's safety. Wearers may try to loosen their laces when wearing boots that are uncomfortable, which makes it easier for water and dirt to get inside. Wearing loose boots can also cause heel pain or inflame the Achilles tendon, which is why the LOWA Leandro Work LX Pro was designed with comfort in mind. 

Comfort isn't the only safety feature, however. These LOWA safety boots also come with ergonomic steel toe caps that protect against impacts of 200 joules and pressure loadings of at least 15 kilonewtons. As an S3 safety boot, the LOWA Leandro Work LX Pro also offers midsole penetration resistance. The textile midsole is 100% metal-free and exceeds the necessary EN 12568 standard, going even further to meet EN ISO 20344 / 20345 specifications. Unlike your typical steel midsoles that can only deliver 85% foot coverage, these textile midsoles provide 100% coverage to ensure feet are as protected as possible.      

The outsole of the LOWA Leandro Work LX Pro safety boot is the LOWA Larrox work with MONOWRAP®-technology double-density sole. Made using a combination of Rubber and Polyurethane, these soles have excellent anti-slip resistance and antistatic properties. They are also abrasion-resistant, heat resistant to 200°C (or even 300°C for short periods) and will retain their flexibility in temperatures as low as -20°C. They are also resistant to damage from oil, fuel, and a wide range of common chemicals.
